Father's Day

On Father's Day we went to Bronte Creek Provincial Park to have a picnic with Carrie's parents. we arrived a bit early and had a look around at the animals.

we even saw a farmer with a pig.

Ev was trapped in her play pen because she is getting way to fast to keep up with.

Once Carrie's parents arrived we had lunch then went for another walk were we saw

some flowers

And Max got to ride

and feed the cows.

We stopped for a quick photo op of Carrie's parents,

the kids with "Nanny and Poppy" and

one of Me with Max and Ev

It was a fantastic day out. Couldn't ask for much more on Father's Day.

fist off is a pic of Max running through the fluff from the trees at the beach. I'm not sure what tree this stuff comes from but it's there every summer and it looks like it's snowing.

hair cut

this is a quick one. okay so all my posts are quick ones.

he looks like a different person by just cutting his hair. It took a while to talk him into cutting his hair. asked him every day for about a week if he wanted his hair cut, finally one day he said okay so chop chop no more locks.

lumberjack

A few weeks ago we went down to visit Carrie's parents and I ended up getting coned into manual labour. :) There were a few trees in the back yard that needed to come down.

Kirk brought along a chainsaw, but half way through the first tree it stopped working. So we started using the little pruning saws that were on hand. They didn't work at all. So we went searching for something that would work. I found a mostly sharp ax and we gave that a go.

The ax was a bit slow going so I searched around a bit more and found a huge saw. And after MacGyvering a second handle for it, we gave that a go.

First Dad and I tried.

Then Kirk and I tried.

In the end, the saw, as cool as it was, just didn't work for us. So we went back to chopping with the ax and pulling on the tree with a rope to try to get it down.

While these to guys pulled,

I chopped.

And eventually we did get the trees down.

Victory at last.

Beautiful sunny day, then this came through. The storm only lasted about an hour then the sun was back out.


the last frame in the sequence is blurry because the camera was getting soaked so I grabbed it and the tripod before the shutter closed.

Toronto at night

Awhile back I had to work at night, so I made the most of it by taking my camera along. After finishing up work I wen't out walking the streets of Toronto to take photos of the city at night. (about 3am)

visiting the Bassetts

Here are some pics of our trip up north to visit the Bassetts. Okay so they are only an hour up the highway but they are still further north then us so it counts as a visit up north. Any how, we had be slackers and hadn't visited the Bassetts in a long time so we called them up and asked if we could spend the day with them. They reluctantly accepted our offer. :)

Once we had arrive we decided to head out to the apple blossom festival.

Because this post has a lot of Max pics I thought I throw this one of Evelyn in to balance it out a bit.

The photo was taken from the outside looking in. Ev and Carrie were looking out the window and Ev started pressing her face against the window.

parks and recreation

went searching for more parks to play at and found a couple.

at the first park either nobody can read the sign or nobody cares what it says

actually the rest of the park wasn't bad at all.

Ev even got a chance to go on the spring animal all by herself, sort of. Carrie just stepped out of the frame so I could get this shot.

tried to get Max to spell his name. in the shot he is supposed to be trying to trace his name.

at this next park Max and Carrie were off playing on the playground so Evelyn and I took a stroll through the grass. As we pushed through nearly foot tall grass I decided to take her out of the stroller and let her play.

If Ev is doing something Max wants to do it. So when Ev was playing on the train, naturally Max wanted to get on there with her,


and everything was going fine…

until they crashed.

A few tears and a few kisses and Ev was all better and back on the train. Max however was told he needed to play with something else.
