Grandma, I'm glad you get to see your sweetheart on Valentine's Day. You two were an awesome example of love for all of us. 

They say that Friday the 13th is supposed to bring bad luck, but I beg to differ. Today my Grandma got to go home.

what a view

For my job I get to go to some pretty neat places. Awhile back I got to work in the Rogers Center and hang out in the Blue Jays locker room and in their dug out. It would probably be more amazing if I actually cared about baseball, but I suppose it was still pretty neat. 

Well this past week I got to do some work in the CN Tower. The best part of all is that I go to be there first thing in the morning and see the sun coming up over the lake. There was steam coming up from the ice, making a layer of clouds a few meters up from the water.

I took a few pictures while I was there. The first is a shot looking west, the second is looking south towards the lake and the third is looking down through the glass floor.

The New Dad

I really feel the need to let everyone know how wonderful Jared is.  I really don't know where I would be with out him.  He gave me the most amazing support during labour,  he showed the most tender side of him I have ever seen when Max was finally 'out' and he was able to care for both of us when we were recovering in the hospital and he continued looking after us the whole week.  The first week home so memorable. I love seeing Max and his Daddy together and reading the Count of Monte Christo to him (don't worry it is the easy reader version). 

I have already added Dad to the list of great things Jared is.

getting closer

It looks like today is going to be the day. We got the call at 6:19 this morning to come to the hospital. They checked Carrie out and then gave her some tablets to induce labour. At 1pm her doctor broke her water and now we are just waiting for her body to respond. So far everything is going well.

baby blanket

I was talking to Mom awhile back about our baby blankets and how the stuffed character was the exact same as the blanket. Well I decided to try my hand at it. I went to the fabric store and they didn't have anything like what I was looking for. So not to be discouraged I went to another fabric store. Where again they didn't have what I was looking for. They did have something that was close though, so I decided to spend my money on it. (I got enough for two just in case I messed up the first one) 

  A few weeks ago I tried to make this blanket. Yup you guessed it I messed it up, pretty badly too. So this past weekend I decided to take a bit more time and try a second time. This time the results where much better. Today I finished the whole project, and while the results aren't as good as I was hoping, they aren't half bad either.

So here are some pictures of the blanket, stuffed character and then one of them together.

Now we just need Maximilian to get here.

Jared's 31st Birthday

Today was Jared's 31st birthday.  I was hoping that he would get a new baby for his birthday, but I guess the stork didn't arrive on time.  Instead we spend the evening together eating pizza on the living room floor and enjoying each others company.  I did have plans to go out to dinner but it the birthday boy wanted to stay in.
