renovations

The reno is coming along slow and steady. I will have a before and after pano for the blog once it's finished and I take the after pano :) For now, however, I just wanted to share a quick video. On the wall with the butlers pantry I moved the power outlet up to counter height and then added another outlet. Easy enough when you have wood studded walls, but when the walls are concrete it's gets to be a bit more difficult.

enjoy the video

  2. Were you able to knock it down?! Did you know that it was concrete before you started the reno? Hope thing are going well and that you'll finish it in no time!

  3. that wall is actually a load bearing wall so, no I didn't knock that one down. :) I just needed to create a hole for the power outlet to fit into. The concrete walls that are not load bearing are weak and with two hits of a hammer you are through them. I have been using a sawsall to cut the interior walls, though the tricky bit with that is that you need to know where the electrical cables are.

A bit more demo to go and then I can start building again.
